Google "Chrome Features" exhibition
You’ve seen the video all over the internet—eight short films depicting the multiple features of Google’s new web browser, Google Chrome. Using cleverly demonstrated handmade mechanical contraptions, the web ads are not only fascinating to watch but they also drive home the message for Google’s new product. Now you can see (and even experience) the making of these films in person. The Internet behemoth, in conjunction with production company 1st Avenue Machine and advertising innovators BBH Labs, has curated “Chrome Features,” “a little exhibition of the apparatus and props used in the films” at the OpenHouse Gallery in New York. It is not so often that advertising meets artistic ingenuity and these eight films show that creativity still exists in the ad world.
Those who are interested in taking in some innovative advertising should visit this two-day exhibition. “Chrome Features” ends today, Friday, January 15th. The OpenHouse Gallery is located at 201 Mulberry Street in New York. To go behind the scenes virtually, visit the BBH Labs website.
